Missing 8-year-old girl from South Salt Lake found after Amber Alert

UPDATE: The girl who went missing on Saturday, Jazsmine Corianna Leah Winston, was found an hour and 45 minutes after Amber Alert was issued. The suspect is in custody. No further information was provided as of 5:30 p.m. The previous story continues below.

SOUTH SALT LAKE — An Amber Alert has been issued Saturday afternoon for a missing 8-year-old girl who was reportedly taken by her non-custodial father Saturday morning.

Jazsmine Corianna Leah Winston was taken from her home located near 3300 S. 220 East in South Salt Lake at 4:31 a.m., according to reporting from KSL and multiple other news outlets.

She is 4 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 80 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes, and is wearing a pink and white ski jacket and white boots.

The suspect, Jazsmine’s father, is 53-year-old Robert Winston. He is 5-foot-6, 202 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. Winston works as a security guard and might be armed, according to the alert.

The two are believed to be heading to Las Vegas possibly with Jazsmine’s older sister, in a Ford Expedition possibly with California license plates.
