TREMONTON — Three adults who died in a rollover crash Monday morning in Box Elder County have been identified.

Jose Gabriel Esquivel, 40, of Garland; Adalynn Head, 37, of Tremonton; and Chris C. Martin, 40, of Willard, were killed after their vehicle rolled into a canal on the west side of 6800 West near Tremonton, according Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Dale Ward.

A fourth person involved in the crash — a 39-year-old woman from Perry — was found sitting alongside the road. She was first transported Bear River Hospital and then flown to McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden. Her condition is unknown.

At 2 a.m. Monday, June 19, emergency dispatchers were contacted about a crash at 8300 N. 6800 West and that the caller had found the 39-year-old woman sitting by the side of the road. She told the caller and dispatch that she was one of four people in a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder SUV that rolled into the canal.

The SUV was traveling northbound on 6800 West when it left the roadway and the driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll, according to sheriff’s office.

All four occupants were ejected from the vehicle, and none were wearing seat belts, police say. Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, the release says.

The two men were found near the car, and the second woman was found about 1.25 miles downstream. All three died at the scene of the crash.

The investigation into the accident is on-going.
