July 27, 1934 ~ September 9, 2017

Larry Dean Ray returned home to his Father in Heaven on Saturday, September 9, 2017. Larry was born in Ogden on July 27, 1934, to Glen and LaManda Rawson Ray. He was the youngest of three brothers. His father was a farmer and trained his boys to be hard-working farm boys. Larry milked cows every morning before school. Larry attended Davis High where he ran track. He was popular with the ladies, but had his eye on his sweetheart, Suzanne.

They were married for time and all eternity in the LDS Temple on June 10, 1955. They had three beautiful girls: Carrie, Holly, and Heidi. He was the most patient father in the world and taught all of his girls many skills, including driving, a scary feat. He was a member of the LDS church and held many callings that he loved. He was extremely good with numbers and became a very successful businessman running convenience stores.

After his girls married, he and Sue did not waste any time and traveled the world, enjoying many places like Hawaii, New York, Hong Kong, Europe and Mexico. While Sue was a jetsetter, Larry enjoyed the simple life, and eventually they purchased a cabin in Midway where Larry enjoyed fishing, four-wheeling, and anything outdoors. He could fix anything that was broken and liked to tinker around. He was very funny and a trickster. His grandchildren recall many pranks involving Halloween masks and fake pictures of his mother. He always knew how to make someone laugh.

He was an exemplary son, brother, father, grandfather, and uncle. He is preceded in death by many friends, his parents and brothers, many aunts and uncles, and his beautiful wife, Suzanne. We know their reunion is sweet.

He is survived and beloved by his daughters: Carrie Sue (Jim) May, Holly Lasater, Heidi (Kurt) Treasure; grandchildren: Justin (Jessie) May, Tyler (Sunni) May, Jared May, Todd May, Jordan May, Chelsi Johnston, Preston (Jessica) Lasater, Jake (Megan) McPhie, Joshua Treasure; and 12 great-grandchildren who adored him.

A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 S. 1900 West, Roy, followed by a small Life Celebration at 11 a.m.

Interment, Kaysville City.
